
Dr. Malathi Voora has pursued her Ph.D. course in Food Science and Nutrition from Dept of Biochemistry, under the guidance of Dr. Kavita Whagray, Head and Professor, College of Food Technology, University College of Engineering, Osmania University Hyderabad and Guest Faculty in NIN, (ICMR).
PAST TEACHING EXPERIENCE:
Lecturer in Home Science at K.V.R. Govt Degree College, Kurnool, A.P from December 1994- March 2000, Guest lecturer in clinical Nutrition for BZC first year students in 1996-98 and Part time lecturer in Food Microbiology, Kurnool Degree College, 1995-1996.

- Presented Posters on Childhood Obesity and Nutrition intervention and surgery outcomes Pediatric Cardiology cases,at National Conference, Indian Dietetic Association In 2007&2009.
- Received Certificate of Appreciation for Oral &Poster Presentation on Nutrition Management of Phenyl Ketonuria &Herpes Simplex Stomatitis, on Nov28th To Dec 1st ,2012 In Golden Jubileenational Conference, at National Institute Of Nutrition. She had OrganizedInternational seminar on Role of Plant based diets in June,28th 2015.She initiated Initiated Evidence Based Protocols for Nutrition Management of Bariatric Surgery Patients. Her case study abstract of Nutrition management of PKU in children was published in Golden Jubilee Edition of Journal of Indian Dietetic Association. She received GCC International Woman’s Day Award, for Academics category, Honored by Honorary Consul of The Republic of Maldives in Bangalore and chairman, Garden city group of Institutions in March, 2013.She developed and implemented Nutrition Assessment Protocol and Care plan for Pediatric Cardiology patients, 0-5yrs and 5-10 yrs in the year 2005. She had presented Posters on Childhood Obesity at Bangalore in 2004 and Pediatric Nutrition at National Conference, Indian Dietetic Association in 2009 at Chennai. She developed nutrition handouts for diet counseling for Women during Pregnancy and Lactation. She developed healthy snacks for women with Gestational Diabetes. She was associated with Clinical research team to conduct 2 Clinical Trials Related to Diabetes at Dept of Endocrinology and 1 clinical trial on Creon effectiveness in Pancreatitis at Dept of Gastro Enterology and certified in clinical research. She has developed and implemented Protein exchanges for Low Protein diets and Lysine and Methionine restricted diets.
- Abstract of Nutrition management of PKU in children, as case study was published in Golden Jubilee Edition of Journal of Indian Dietetic Association, Nov, 2012.Research paper on functional food management was presented in international conference at All India institute of medicalscience, NewDelhi andpublished in ICHAIIMS JOURNAL IN 2014, organized by All India institute of medical sciences, New Delhi.
- She has trained 20 interns from various organizations and 3 R.D interns.
- She has participated in Nutrition Communication Project for children between 5-14 yrs at Parikrama Humanity foundation, Bangalore, organized by Singapore International Foundation.
- Implemented innovative techniques in diet counseling with Body composition analysis and digital health care initiatives.
- Developed low-cost nutritious recipes for pre-schoolers.
- Certified in Ketogenic diet Therapy.
She has handled about 600 Type.1 Diabetic patients and managed their diets effectively to optimize their blood sugars,thereby preventing complications.She has handled around 45 children with refractory epilepsies and other neurological disorders with ketogenic diets in close association with neurologists.She managed around 500 patients with gestational diabetes with tailored diet counselling as per current advances in medical nutrition therapy for GDM.She is certified in Insulin Pump Therapy, Paediatric Medical Nutrition in critical care and Early Nutrition specialist courses.Currently she is a Freelancer and also associated with Synapse Neuro Centre Bengaluru, as Nutrition Consultant.
