HI I’M SUMEDHA MULLICK
I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist from USA and practicing as a freelance nutritionist in Panchkula, Haryana, India. I have worked extensively in the field of nutrition and dietetics for more than 12 years in various settings such as long term care facilities, hospitals, women and child programs, Dialysis clinic in US and in India. I am also a certified diabetes educator from International Diabetes Federation IDF (Belgium).
My core areas of interest include renal, oncology, and complementary, and alternative nutrition.
MY PERSONAL STORY
My passion to pursue dietetics originates primarily from watching my father read the food column and my mother experiment and adapt western cooking techniques. My grandmother’s knowledge about healing properties of herbs inspired me to set up a herb garden has become a fixture in our backyard. Today our herb garden has grown a lot bigger and includes many exotic herbs and microgreens which we use in our recipes and cooking. Last but not the least, my brother’s wife (Bhabhi’s) interest in adapting different recipes due to her allergies has further stoked my interest in nutrition. As a practicing Dietitian, I hope to facilitate and mentor clients to a healthier, fit, and a wholesome you.
MY APPROACH
For me nutrition and wellness are a part of your being and a way of life. I agree it is extremely hard and we humans change our perspective ONLY WHEN WE ARE FORCED TO DO SO, INCLUDING ME. However, the modern world demands you to be more in tune with the nature and the self for a better tomorrow. Because of so much advancement in technology I feel that we the human beings have drifted and moved away from our cultural roots, habits, the way of doing things and the personal touch. In my practice I incorporate contemporary scientifically proven theories of dietetics and different alternative and complementary therapies such as Ayurveda etc.
